Application Information

Admission Requirements

All the requirements listed below must be strictly satisfied on filing.

  • Applicants must be over 18 years of age and recently graduated (within 3 years.)
  • Applicants must have finished high-school or formal education for a minimum period of 12 school years, or must be future graduates at the time they plan to enter SJC.
  • Applicants must pass the N5 level of Japanese Proficiency Test or finish taking more than 150 hours of a Japanese course before the time they plan to apply.

Application Process

Applicants
  1. Get a copy of the application form. It will be sent on request.
  2. Submit your completed application to SJC admission office before the deadline.
SJC
  1. Your application will be screened.
  2. When we decide to accept you, we will apply for the issuance of your "Authorization of Resident Eligibility" from the immigration office by proxy.
Immigration Office
  1. Your application will be examined.
  2. When you are eligible, the Immigration Office will issue your "Authorization of Resident Eligibility".
SJC
  1. We will send you a photocopy of your "Authorization of Resident Eligibility" and also the bill for the total cost of tuition and other fees.
Admittees
  1. Admittees must transfer the total cost of tuition and other fees to a SJC's bank account before the due date.
SJC
  1. When we confirm your payment, we will send you the original copy of your "Authorization of Resident Eligibility". We will also include a copy of the immigration guidebook.
Admittees
  1. Admittees must apply for a passport and a Japanese student visa.
  2. You should give us advanced notice of your scheduled time of arrival by e-mail.
SJC
  1. We will meet you at the airport.
  2. New students will attend the orientation and entrance ceremony.
  3. You will start your life and study in Japan.
